Emico were employed by Mowlem on this region wide project to upgrade the track power supplies. Emico supplied engineering staff to Mowlem as well as carrying out fixed price cabling contracts as detailed below

The following 33kV oil filled feeders were upgraded to 3 x 300mm² XLPE singles with new pilot cables:

• Feeder 617 Lewisham to Charlton (3 * 5000m + pilot)
• Feeder 618 Greenwich to Charlton (3 * 4500m + pilot)
• Feeder 1565 Temporary bypass link (3 * 3200m + pilot)
• Feeder 544 & 545 – Forest Hill to Sydenham (6* 1000m + pilots)
• Feeder 1078 Hildenborough to Tonbridge (3*3500m + pilot)
• Feeder 1564 Bermondsey to Greenwich (3*2000m + pilot)

All cables were jointed using including 3M QS 2000 in line splice joints on our feeders as well as other contractors cables.

All oil filled cable and equipment recovered and recycled. The concrete trough cable route’s was refurbished where possible or replaced with C1/9 trough. In other areas GRP troughing was provided on posts.
